Our Story
Nine years of calling, training and establishing intercessory prayer cells in BC, and a commissioning to go east under the mantle of Intercessors for Canada (IFC) in 2026.
Lower Mainland Intercessors began during a prayer session in a home in 2017. The word was plain: call a women’s prayer conference. The instructions came step by step. Start prayer cells in every city. Fill the attendance sheet at the conference, collect the names, look to see who lives near whom.
That is how each area started — through the contacts made in a room. The move of the Spirit then opened doors in other cities, and prayer cells sprang up.
In 2020 the meetings could no longer be held in person, so they moved to Zoom. The prayer cells held. The first conference after that season came in October 2022, and one hundred and sixty people came — enough that a sanctuary was needed to seat them. Out of it, new prayer cells formed on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast.
January 2023 brought the first conference on the Sunshine Coast. April 2023, Qualicum Beach on the Island, and God set a prayer cell there. October 2023, the Okanagan. Then a quiet year. And then God decided to enlarge the territory.
“Obey, even when you don’t understand.” A call went out for a prayer vigil, ten at night until six in the morning. Sixteen people came, and no one slept.
Derek Prince with IFAmerica, had a grandson who was a Pastor in Niagara Falls region, Peter Wyns, who started the IFC Charity in Jan 1985 for the purposes of establishing Christian prayer networks and intercessory movements for national issues, leadership and communities across Canada. Lower Mainland Intercessors as a regional prayer movement, sat under this charitable umbrella.
In July, 2026 Pastor David Carson, IFC Director for the past 22 years, passed the mantle to the BC LMI regional team to take Canada to another level of prayer because the call of God is progressive. Where there had been prayer cells in the Lower Mainland, on Vancouver Island, on the Sunshine Coast and in the Interior of BC, there would now be prayer cells across provincial borders — British Columbia and Alberta first, and then east.
We are believing the wind of the Spirit to move this ministry of training, equipping and establishing intercessory prayer cells by extending its wings so that the force of the wind carries it out across Canada. God is looking for our willingness. Nobody knows what He will do in every Region. All that is needed is a willingness: “Here I am Lord, use me”.
